Royal Mail has today confirmed it is to relocate its delivery operations at Narberth and Tenby to a new, purpose-built site at Unit 18, Rushacre Enterprise Park, Redstone Road, in Narberth.

This follows discussions with the Communication Workers Union (CWU) and people in both offices.

Royal Mail are continuing to discuss the proposed relocation of Whitland delivery office to Narberth and no final decision has been made.

“We have acquired a new site for Narberth delivery office as the existing building, in Spring Gardens, Narberth, no longer meets our requirements as we deliver more parcels and fewer letters,” said a spokesperson for the Royal Mail.

“This represents a significant investment in Royal Mail’s operations in the area.

“The new office will be designed to meet our operational requirements and offer better facilities for our customers and our people.

“Building work on the new office is progressing well and we expect we will be ready to relocate our Narberth operations in late Summer 2018.

“We plan to move our Tenby delivery operations to the new site in Narberth in early 2019.

“We also intend to retain a mail collection facility in Tenby for customers who were out when we delivered to them and we could not leave the item with a neighbour.

“This is part of Royal Mail’s ongoing transformation of its business to increase the efficiency of its operation as well as providing delivery offices which are fit for purpose for our people and for our customers,” they added.

There will be no job losses as a result of these office relocations.
