The situation regarding a portrait of a disgraced ex-mayor being displayed in the council chambers of the town hall where Pembroke Town Council meet is due to be raised tonight (Thursday)?when members meet.
It comes after the portrait of ex-mayor David Boswell was seen on display in January, angering residents of the town.
Boswell was jailed for 18 years in 2018 for historic child sex offences pre-dating his time mayor and as a county councillor. The portrait was removed in January.However, the situation has caused so much anger that the town council has been called to apologise for its handling of the matter.
Pembroke Town Council will discuss the issue at its meeting with the matter listed on the agenda to be brought up by Clr. Gareth Jones.
The election of a new mayor and deouty mayor will also be on the agenda for the meeting which begins at 6.30 pm.
