Pembrokeshire goes to the polls today (Thursday) for the county, town and community council elections. Thirteen of the county seats will not be contested as there is only one candidate for each, but some interesting fights are in the offing.
Not least will be the battle in Narberth town, where former Pembrokeshire County Council chairman, Wynne Evans, is not standing for re-election.
Hoping to replace him are Sue Rees, a town councillor for the past 18 years, Vic Dennis, a former county council employee, who is representing Labour, and Conservative candidate Rayner Peet.
Meanwhile, across the border in Whitland, Sue Allen will be hoping to hold on to her seat on Carmarthenshire County Council, but she faces fierce competition from Bryan Haddon - UKIP; Natalie Jones - Plaid Cymru; and Vivienne Morris - Labour.
Voting day is Thursday, May 4. See inside for a full list of county council candidates in our circulation area.
