The place names of Wales will be the subject of a special event at Pembroke Dock Library next week.
On Wednesday (April 3) from 7 pm, Dr James January-McCann, Place Names Officer for the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales, will be discussing The List of Historic Place Names of Wales.
This ground-breaking and innovative resource contains hundreds of thousands of place names collected from historical maps and other resources, and provides a fascinating insight in to the land use, archaeology and history of Wales.
Dr January-McCann is a Welsh and Celtic Studies scholar with research interests in Early Modern Catholic Literature in Welsh and Welsh Place Names, which led to him being appointed to his current post with the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales in 2017.
The event is free to attend and no booking is required.
