The play park at The Green in Pembroke has been given a new lease of life.
New equipment has been installed thanks to an agreement between Pembrokeshire County Council and Pembroke Town Council to jointly fund the refurbishment.
The first phase of the scheme was recently completed and now a community group has been formed to raise money for further improvements to the facility.
To ensure that not only local people but youngsters have a say in matters, three children are serving on the group’s committee: Tiana Brazier aged 11, Ricky Davies 8 and five-year-old Zac Weston.
The area’s County Councillor, Jon Harvey, said the play park had been run down and neglected for many years.
He explained: “When I was standing for election to the Authority, one of the undertakings I gave was to enhance the play equipment for the children.
“I am delighted to say that this is now happening thanks to the co-operation between the two councils. I look forward to working with the community group to deliver further improvements.”
