The Pembroke Dock Carnival proved to be a huge success last weekend, with the procession made up of nine unique floats, and many colourful walking fancy dress entries.

Headed by Pembroke Dock Mayor, Councillor Gordon Goff, the first float contained the Carnival Queen, Kyra McIntyre and her attendants, the Fairy Queen, Grace Briskham, and the Rose Queen, Olivia Scourfield.

The Carnival made its way through the spectators lining the streets to the Bierspool Ground of Pembroke Dock Quins, who were organising the carnival and floats. Councillor Goff then opened the fete.

This was certainly the best carnival for many years, and the standard of all the floats was very high with plenty of colourful efforts, however, the first prize went to the dark side with ‘Star Wars’ coming out on top.

The walking fancy dress was awarded to ‘101 Dalmations’ and the fancy dress to the ‘Pink Ladies’.

On the fete field there were many stalls, including the ducking stool, bottle stall, beat the keeper, guess the weight and many more.Other attractions were provided by the fairground and bouncy castle and a marvellous display by the local Kelly Williams School of Dance.

The Grand Prize draw was also drawn.

The main attraction on the field was the Roy Davies five-a-side football competition.

12 teams competed in a round robin competition. After a long afternoon, the final was won by AA Scaffolding who beat the Quins 2-0 in the final to take the trophy.

A hugely successful day, very well supported by locals and holidaymakers alike.

The organisers of the carnival and Fete, Pembroke Dock Harlequins RFC, would like to thank all who took part and everyone who came to support us on the day.

The Town Council and Chamber of Trade for their excellent support.

The Three Amigos for their invaluable help and last but by no means least, all the members and friends who put so much time and effort into making sure the day was such a huge success. Well done and here’s to next year!
