A 44-year-old man from Narberth appeared before Haverfodwest Magistrates on Tuesday, after pleading guilty to possessing a quantity of cannabis.

Darren Patrick Dewaine, of the Basement Flat, Derutzen Hotel, Market Street, was found in possession of 0.1 grammes of cannabis when police executed a drugs warrant search of his property on the evening of January 5.

The drug was discovered in a silver cannabis grinder which Mr. Dewaine voluntarily handed to officers when they carried out the search.

"They spent a good hour looking and found nothing. I showed them the grinder which had 0.1 grammes of cannabis in it, not enough to even make a reefer!" Mr. Dewaine told the magistrates, who ordered him to pay £85 in costs and imposed a conditional discharge on him.
