PRODUCE MARKET and GIFT and CRAFT FAYRE

The next market will be tomorrow (Saturday) between 9.30am and 12.30 pm.

Regular stallholders include Pam Gresty from Cwrtau Bach Farm, Christine James from Tavernspite Tea Rooms, Lucy and Wendy Bevan from The Comfort Zone, Barry Hathway from F. J. Hathway and Sons, Paul Oeppen from Hazelwell Organic Farm and Sarah Miller from Sarah Miller Cooks Your Homemade Preserves and Pickles.

A large selection of gifts handmade by local craftspeople will ne on offe, from greeting cards, jewellery, pictures, woodcrafts, candles and soaps to miniature vases and more. Free entry.

The December market will be a Christmas produce special on Saturday December 8 (9.30 am - 12.30 pm).

Besides the regular stallholders, there will be a seasonal festive feel to this market. You will be able to buy some last minute gifts handmade by local craftspeople, Christmas mini-hampers, fresh Christmas wreaths and table decorations, Christmas trees, etc.

And, to help you get in the festive spirit, there will be an excellent mulled wine (with or without alcohol) and delicious mince pies on offer.

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY

This year, the Remembrance Day ceremonies will start at 10 am on Sunday at the Memorial Hall with the laying of the wreaths by the war memorial, followed by a service in Llanboidy starting at 10.55 am.

PLANT DEWI

New in Whitland. In the Memorial Hall every Monday from 11 am to 1 pm. Plant Dewi organises activities and events for young parents and also offers advice on returning to work, training and education. Plant Dewi is an organisation that believes in strengthening families, nurturing children and building communities, and helps parents, children and young people to receive the local support they need. COUNSELLING SERVICE

A new rural outreach domestic abuse crisis support and relationship counselling service will be coming to Whitland from Monday, October 8. For advice, drop-in at the Memorial Hall from 11 am to 12 noon or 1 to 3 pm.

TRUE RELAX

Are you stressed, tired, anxious or suffering from sleep problems? Do you want to learn simple, effective techniques to combat all of these? Lay back and unwind in the True Relax workshop at Whitland Memorial Hall on Monday, November 12 (7.30 - 8.30 pm). Cost is £5 per person or £4 for OAPs, under 18s and unemployed. JOB CLUB

Next week on the second Wednesday of November (14th) from 2 to 4 pm

The Job Club is a voluntarily run group to help people in their quest for a job. Totally free and informal, it provides free help on how to look for work and free use of computers and internet access for job searches, with help at hand if needed to navigate through the system.

Job vacancies in the area will be posted weekly on the Job Club noticeboard (reverse side of Memorial Hall noticeboard).

The RDP Sir Gâr debt and benefit officer will be at the Job Club to help access a range of financial services in the area, with specialist support where needed.

WORKWAYS

Worways officers will also be in the Memorial Hall during Job Club to give advice and support to those unemployed and looking for work.

Workways provides Co-ordinated Employment Gateway - ensuring access to all available support; Effective Mentor Support - dedicated one to one advice and guidance; Job Focused Training - identifying specific courses and qualifications; Employer Liaison - supporting employers to employ local people; and Return to Work Support - all aspects of jobsearch techniques and work tasters.

RAINBOWS

COFFEE MORNING:

A coffee mrning will be held in the Memorial Hall on Saturday, December 8, during the December Produce Market (9.30 am to 12 noon). There will be a raffle and a variety of stalls, mulled wine and mince pies, as well as the usual tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits.

WHIST DRIVES:

A whist drive will be held in the Memorial Hall tomorrow (Saturday) at 8 pm, as well as on the first, second and fourth Wednesday of the month and second Saturday.
