At Tuesday night’s Annual General Meeting of Narberth Town Council, Clr. Christopher Walters was instated as the Mayor of Narberth for 2019/20.

Thirty-two-year-old Clr. Walters, Narberth born and bred, joined the council in early 2017 and became the Deputy Mayor in 2018.

“I am extremely proud to become the Mayor of this great town,” he said.

“I have always been passionate about Narberth, the town and the people who live in it. In my opinion, we are the ‘Best Town’ around.”

Clr. Walters thanked the outgoing Mayor Clr. Elizabeth Rogers for being an ‘outstanding Mayor’ for 2018/19 and for all the help she has provided in getting him here tonight.

He also thanked his new Deputy Mayor Clr. Sue Rees for her support along the way.

The Annual General Meeting was conducted in the presence of fellow Councillors, Narberth residents and friends of Clr. Walters.

The meeting was blessed by the Reverend Shirley Murphy who blessed the whole council and Clr. Walters for his term of office ahead.

Clr. Walters who is joined by his mum Mrs. Linda Walters as the Mayoress, thanked everyone for attending and stated that he was looking forward to meeting many more people throughout his term of office.

He dedicated his evening to his dad, Alan Walters, who sadly passed away four years ago.
