Picture this...

Clear blue skies, waves lapping on a fresh, sandy shore; people playing games and soaking up the sun. In the distance, a school of dolphins arch the breaking waves; paradise!

When life is like this, no one expects danger. As we rest in the peace, we want to remain stress free.

Suddenly, a freak current drags the dolphins ashore; they writhe in the lapping tide - drowning in the shallow. The holiday is over.

Experts run in first; lifeguards, trained for human rescue, with desperate attempts to save. Others join the rescue mission.

One man stands on the shoreline, watching. He's not hard or indifferent, just hesitant, afraid. Yet, his heart beats to help.

Then he takes the step and wades in. Gaining skills as he acts, one by one they rescue the dolphins, dragging them to deep water. Swimming free, they escape danger.

Where are you today? Are you swimming in dangerous waters? Are you beached with pain or anxiety? Or maybe you are looking on, seeing people in desperate need?

Wherever you are Jesus can help.

Jesus was in paradise, but he saw our need and waded in. Jesus allowed his perfect soul to be stained for our sake. Rescuing us from the eternal consequences of our imperfections.

Jesus wades in to save us; can we do the same, be God's Right Hand rescuing others, even risking our lives ?

We can watch as people drown in the shallowness of life. We can play for the draw, when we have a guaranteed win... which will it be?

Let's dive in deep with Jesus today!

Footnote: Do you have any old and unwanted bras? Sally Lloyd is joining forces with Bosom Buddies charity, with help from Katie Howells at Pretty Lovely Lingerie who has agreed to collect bras at her shop. You can donate your bras to Pretty Lovely Lingerie, 27 High Street, Narberth. For every ton (9,000) of bras collected, a textile recycling firm pledged to donate £1,000 to Breast Cancer UK, and all the collected bras will be sent to Africa and distributed amongst women to reduce the risks they face from sexual violence.
