The NAVF Festival is a wonderful opportunity for people to come together to share in a joyful weekend of singing. This year, there will be a Saturday evening concert with a rich line-up of performances, singing workshops to bookend the festival and very special additions of a Singing Feast, a Celebration of Community and Song and a very extraordinary record-breaking attempt.
The NAVF Saturday Concert will bring captivating performances from Semi Toned, Exeter’s award winning all male choir (Barbershop harmony), Ye Vagabonds (Irish folk) and Durga Ramakrishnan (Indian).
The workshop programme on Saturday and Sunday features Irish/folk, Indian, Corsican, Georgian, Welsh and Looping alongside Molara’s Sing for Wellbeing clinic.
The Singing Feast on February 15 will be a fantastic opportunity to feed the soul as well as the stomach. Performers and participants will sing for their supper from a menu of songs and food from around the globe. Manchester charity, Heart and Parcel, will also share their inspirational community building story bringing migrant women together through dumplings.
The Celebration of Community and Song and Intergenerational Choir Record-Breaking Attempt on February 16 will see the festival close with a heartfelt performance of an inspirational and international repertoire from Span Arts’ Côr Pawb and Caring Choirs. This will be followed by an extraordinary record-breaking attempt to bring people aged from 0 - 99 together to sing in unison and raise funds for local youth and dementia charities. Whatever your age or experience of singing you are invited to join this one-off multi-generational choir and sing along in unison to rousing and uplifting songs to finish the festival off in style.
