Grace World
Dr. Terry Law, of World Compassion, visiting Narberth for the third time, spoke to an enthralled audience at the Court House concerning their work and on the subject of healing.
World Compassion is a non-denominational, faith-based, international organisation founded by Dr. Terry Law in 1969. The mission of the organisation is to areas of the world where most church ministers rarely go because of political, religious, and or economic instability. Their endeavours on behalf of those who support them, enables church planting, training, literature, and humanitarian outreaches. From the former Soviet Union to the war-torn countries of Afghanistan and Iraq, World Compassion has reached millions.
Though only in the UK for one week, he graciously returned to Narberth and held his audience captivated, listening to every word. All present were also delighted to see the DVD of the ministry of World Compassion. One of those excellent evenings at the Court House where it was a privilege to be there.
It was several visits by Terry Law to Wales in the early 1970s that inspired Paul Dando - senior pastor of Grace Church - to visit Poland with humanitarian aid and teaching in churches and drug rehabilitation centres, and to countries in the former communist eastern block of Europe.

NARBERTH BAPTIST FELLOWSHIP
Sometimes you find humour in the way signs are written. A sign was spotted at a farmer's field: 'The farmer allows walkers to cross the field for free, but the bull charges'. In a podiatrist's window: 'Time wounds all heels'. On a Maternity Room door: 'Push, Push, Push' and at the opticians:'If you don't see what you're looking for, you've come to the right place'.
That last sign is just a humorous way of saying that it is only those people who are sick who are in need of the doctor. And isn't that what Jesus himself said? "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance" (Mark 2:17).
Jesus and the Pharisees often had conflict over the 'sinners'. The Pharisees drew a sharp dividing line between the morally good and the morally bad. No good Jew would ever associate with 'that kind of people'. That certainly wasn't the attitude of Jesus. Jesus often ate and drank with socially unacceptable people and invited one of them (Levi) to be one of his apostles.
Jesus didn't come to hobnob with the religious elite. Sometimes we need to be reminded that the church is not a place for people who are perfect, but rather a place for those who know that they are in need of forgiveness and strength - those who are seeking healing at the hands of the Great Physician. Don't stay away from church because you don't feel good enough. Come and find healing, along with the rest of us who are imperfect.
NBF meets 6.30 pm Sundays and afterwards a buffet supper - phone 01834 861391 or just visit.

Compost Corner
Narberth Compost Corner has now been in existence at their site opposite Stone Ditch Farm (Valley Road) for a year.
In that time, they have amassed several bins of well-rotted compost (thanks to members' donations!) and a small mountain of wood chippings.
Members are invited to collect as much as they need to make way for new compost piles to be started soon. The site is now open every Wednesday 8 am to 9.30 am and 4.30 to 6 pm.
New members are very welcome to join the group so that they can take advantage of free compost and mulch as well as giving a small bit of their time to site maintenance.
They have extended the 'catchment' area for membership to a circumference of Lampeter Velfrey, Loveston, Bethesda and Clunderwen.
Annual fee from May 2009 is £10, but free to members who volunteer for on-site duties on Wednesdays.
To coincide with Compost Awareness Week (http://www.compostawarenessweek.org.uk">www.compostawarenessweek.org.uk), Compost Corner is holding an Open Day at the site on Saturday, May 9, from 10 am to 2 pm. Master composters will be on site to answer your queries about composting and there will be vegetable and flowering plants for sale which have been raised using compost corner compost. Please support Pembrokeshire's only community led compost site.
