Narberth Town Council have confirmed their pledge to provide a new play plark for the Town Moor.
But it's at the expense of many of the town's groups and organisations who are to receive less funding from the council next year.
The £4,000 which has been set aside for the scheme has also resulted in an increase in the budget - the first rise for three years.
At their meeting on Tuesday night, members rubber-stamped their precept for 2011/12 at £36,575 - an increase of £1,575 on the current year.
Whilst financial gifts to the Queen's Hall, Christmas lights fund, alloments and Friends of the Lee Davies Centre will remain the same at £1,500, £5,000, £500 and £500, respectively, there will be no donations this year to Bloomfield or the swimming pool. The latter two had both received letters explaining the council's decision.
Elsewhere, there will be reductions of £1,000 for Narberth Museum, which will now get £500, £500 for the Bus Stop project, which will now get £1,000, and £250 each for the cricket, football and rugby youth - a 50 per cent cut on the current year's donation.
Civic Week and the Winter Carnival will also only get half the donations of the current year.
Increases include £2,350 for the burial ground, which is in line with the anticipated increase in maintenance costs.
The Narberth Castle maintenance budget remains at £1,650, as does environment improvements at £2,800, the clerk's salary at £8,600, clerk's expenses at £1,750 and Mayor's expenses at £2,000.
There is also £1,760 earmarked for civic functions and £100 for members' allowance.
