A team of four students from Dyffryn Taf were in London last week for the National Final of the Team Maths Challenge run by the UKMT (UK Maths Trust).

The team, which consisted of Corinne Yau, Jacob Layfield, Bryony Gardner and Harvey Yau (from Narberth Primary School), won a place in the final by winning the Welsh regional heat in Cardiff in April.

There were 96 teams there on the day, representing independent and state schools from all over the UK, and they were placed a very impressive 10th overall!

Harvey and Corinne also recently qualified for the Intermediate Mathematical Olympiad (Cayley paper for Year 9's) and they both did well, Harvey even winning a distinction certificate and a book prize, which is only given to the top 100 entrants - congratulations!

Jacob also qualified for a follow-on challenge and sat the 'Grey Kangaroo', in which he too did well, despite only receiving a certificate of participation. Congratulations!
