Martin Gilpin
Claudia Glodis Gunnarsdottir
The wedding took place on August 10 in Tenby of Martin Gilpin and Claudia Glodis Gunnarsdottir, of St. Florence.
The groom, a plumber, and the bride, a jazz and blues singer and ballet teacher, were married at St. Mary's Church, in a small and intimate ceremony conducted with sensitivity and humour by Rev. Andrew Davies.
Given away by her eldest son, Jon Gunnar Hannesson, the bride wore a dress made by Sophie Ray-Davies.
Best man was the groom's eldest son Lewis Balfour Gilpin, while the ushers were Egill Freyr Sigurdsson (bride's son) and Mustafa Secluk.
The wedding reception took place at the couple's home in St. Florence, where Jon Gunnar and Egill Freyr cooked a big Spanish paella on the BBQ, loaded with seafood, before the guests enjoyed the bride's homemade Russian blinis with Beluga caviar.
The bride sang to her groom 'The Rose' by Bette Midler, while Mr. Ben Stubbs (Claudia's fellow graduate from Guildford School of Acting) also performed a chapter from Shakespeare's 'The Taming of the Shrew', much to the amusement of the bride and all in attendance, who danced away the afternoon and early evening.
The couple plan to spend time with Claudia's relatives in Portugal and Iceland for their honeymoon.
