AT a star-studded gala event at Swansea's Liberty Stadium last week, local fireman Bryn Etchells received his 20-year long service medal.

Bryn, of Narberth, was accompanied by his wife Caroline to the ceremony.

Clr. Wynne Evans, of the Mid and West Wales Fire Service, said: "The 'celebrating success awards' is a event that recognises the huge contribution made by firefighters for their communities.

"Bryn is very focused on the community, and also plays a vital role in the co-responder service we offer to the people of Narberth and the surrounding area.

"Bryn is one of the crew managers based at Narberth, as well as being a first aid trainer, and I acknowledge and appreciate all he does. He is a credit to our service," added Clr. Evans.

Station manager at Narberth, Paul Morris, said: "Bryn is always reliable, and dedicated to his role, as well as being a very popular member of the crew."
