Last month, West Wales R'n'R Club held a very successful breast cancer charity dance featuring Britain's Got Talent stars 'The Jive Aces'. The cheque for £200 will be presented to the charity representative on Friday, May 18, at Whitland Dairy Club when the club presents another fantastic evening of live music.

This is a rare chance to catch one of the most dynamic R'n'R bands of the 1980s on their 2012 tour.

The Jets first formed in 1974 as four piece Rock 'n' Roll band, specialising in the '50s era. After various line up changes the band settled on a three piece line up in 1978.

The Jets are now a family concern. Eldest brother Bob on lead vocals and double bass, Ray, the middle brother, on lead guitar and vocals, and last (but certainly not least), youngest brother Tony on drums and yes, you've guessed it vocals. They are a three-piece band playing with as much energy and full sound as a six piece outfit.

They have had a successful recording career and the three brothers were snapped up by record company giants EMI, achieving Top Twenty hit records and albums (nine hit records listed in the Guinness book of hit records). They have recorded several Pop videos and over 60 major TV shows, including Top of the Pops etc.

Touring has been in The Jets blood since '78 - Scandinavia, Europe, Japan, USA, have all been visited, headlining their own tours and as part of the bill on numerous festivals with such artists as Sting, Boy George, Robert Plant, Cliff Richard, Shakin' Stevens, as well as original '50s artists, Carl Perkins, Jack Scott, Elvis's drummer D. J. Fontana (who actually played drums with the Jets), Charlie Gracie, The Crickets, and British rockers Marty Wilde, Wee Willie Harris, Billy Fury etc.

On May 18, at Whitland Dairy Club, they will be supported by DJ Jive Machine playing jive and classics from the 1950s.

Doors open at 7.30 pm and music will go on until 11.45 pm. Admission is just £10 and a great night is guaranteed so get there early.
