Sir,
Late afternoon last Friday, in Narberth High Street, I caught the toe of my shoe on the edge of a paving slab and fell heavily; it transpired dislocating my left shoulder shoulder.
I fell in front of a young lady walking towards me, who immediately came to see if I was hurt and in need of help. I knew from the amount of pain I was in the answer to both of those questions was ‘Yes’.
Within minutes I was surrounded by a group of people all wanting to know what they could do to help. This letter is to say an enormous ‘thank you’ to all those wonderful, kind, caring people, who not only did what they could to help, but stayed until my family arrived to take me to hospital, my guess being that was about an hour.
It fills my heart with joy that there are people of all ages out there willing to come to the aid of someone in distress. I hope all those there on Friday, especially those I do not know and therefore cannot contact, read this letter of heartfelt thanks.
At Withybush A & E, where I was treated by Dr. Withanage and his wonderful team, my care was faultless. Where would we be without our wonderful NHS, our lives would be very different if when in need of medical help all those skilled caring people were not there for us?
Mrs. Gloria Thomas,
Llanddewi Velfrey,
Narberth.
