New chair of the South East Pembrokeshire Community Health Network (SEPCHN), Clr. Jonathan Preston, is looking to organise a meeting between local AMs and senior representatives of the Hywel Dda University Health Board to discuss matters concerning Tenby and surrounding area.

SEPCHN secretary, Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas, told her colleagues at a meeting of Tenby Town Council on Tuesday night that a recent meeting had looked at a review of the walk-in centre at the town’s Cottage Hospital and that Clr. Preston was trying to follow this meeting up with further discussions on healthcare services in the area in general.

The Health Board recently launched a new clinically-led engagement and listening exercise to ask local residents and stakeholders exactly what they want from their future NHS services, and in light of these consultations, Clr. Mrs. Thomas emphasised once again the importance of local residents taking part.

“I’d say to the people of Tenby and the surrounding area to please, please take part in these consultations when they come up and to attend any local meetings that are arranged.

“We want our town to have a voice on these matters. As soon as we have further news on consultations, then we will publicise them. There won’t just be digital surveys to fill out, but I’m sure written ones as well.

“Our voice has to be heard!”
