If you are looking for an entertaining night out just before Christmas, then do not miss Ysgol Greenhill School’s forthcoming production of the hit West End show “School of Rock”.

Based on the 2003 cult film of the same name - ’School of Rock’ the musical, written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, is now a worldwide phenomenon.

The show follows a character called Dewey Finn. He is a failed, wannabe rock singer and guitarist who decides to earn a bit of extra cash by posing as a supply teacher at a prestigious prep’ school.

After identifying the musical talent in his students, he turns a class of ‘straight A’ pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out?

There are 76 Greenhill pupils from years 7 to 13 involved in the production, both on stage and behind the scenes.

The talented cast play their instruments live during every performance. Three weeks ago, many of those involved went to see the ‘School of Rock’ theatre production in London, and were even able to rehearse alongside some of the West End cast the next day in Pineapple Studios.

It is promising to be a spectacular show, and an opportunity to see how the dedication of staff and pupils has brought together local talent in a memorable musical.

Please treat yourselves and your friends to a great night out, and support your local school.

The shows are on Tuesday (December 18), Wednesday and Thursday.

Tickets are available from the school reception, or Dales Music Store on Tenby’s High Street.
