After a serious road accident, the rider of a motorcycle was airlifted by Wales Air Ambulance and the mother of the seriously injured rider was convinced that the prompt and professional action taken on that day by the crew saved the life of her son David.
The mother, Lyn Jones, of Roch, decided that she wanted to repay the charity for their actions and she set about knitting and crocheting small items to build up a fund for the benefit of others.
That was three years ago and in October this year, Mrs. Jones met with the Pembrokeshire co-ordinator for Wales Air Ambulance, Tony Key OBE, and handed to him a cheque for £2,760, which is the equivalent of two flights by the ambulance.
“This will give someone else who needs our service an opportunity of survival,” said Tony.
