Film-on-Sunday, Narberth's Film Society, continues its 2011/2012 season with the Oscar nominated animated feature film 'Chico and Rita', which will be shown at 7:30 pm this Sunday, February 19, at the Queen's Hall, Narberth.

The setting is Cuba in 1948. Chico is a young piano player with big dreams. Rita is a beautiful singer with an extraordinary voice. Music and desire unite them as they chase their dreams and each other from Havana to New York to Paris, Hollywood and Las Vegas.

With an original soundtrack by legendary Cuban pianist and five-time Grammy-winning composer Bebo Valdés, Chico and Rita captures a defining moment in the evolution of Cuban history and jazz. It has been described as a dazzling and delightful work of modernist animation, a classic movie romance and a hip-swinging, finger-popping tale of musical revolution.

Film-on-Sunday is showing an eclectic mix of English speaking and foreign language films at the Queen's Hall fortnightly through the middle of April. The next film to be shown at the Queen's Hall on Sunday, March 4, will be 'Beginners', a comedy starring Ewan McGregor and Christopher Plummer.

Homemade puddings, tea, coffee, wine and beer are served before each showing and a selection of DVDs from the Film-on-Sunday library are available for two-week rental periods free of charge.

The hall is equipped with the very latest DVD projection equipment and there is comfortable tired seating for a perfect viewing experience.
