What a festive sight at 92 Devon Drive in Pembroke. From 6-9 pm every evening, Paul and Angie Paddick are lighting up their Christmas lights and are collecting for Ty Hafan.

“They are a fantastic cause and need every penny we can raise for them,” said Paul. “So please come see the lights and donate to this charity and help them keep up the fantastic work they are doing.”

The couple have been decorating their home for five years.

“It started with my old neighbours and for fun we went into competition with each other,” explained Paul. “Then two years ago, we started to do it for charity. This year, as you know, is for Ty Hafan. We started putting the decorations out in October, with the occasional help of my little helper Adam, my son. I’m not sure how many bulbs there are, but there are almost 200 sockets for them all to plug into. And they are using around 8,760 watts according to my new smart meter!

“Our display is growing and getting bigger every year. All the money raised goes to charity, I take no money out to help fund the lights or electricity; I fund that myself.”

If you would like to take a photo of your children with Santa when you come to see the lights, please send Paul a PM on Facebook to arrange a time after 6 pm. There is no charge for the photo, but a donation to a great cause would be much appreciated.
