The family of a Pembrokeshire mother who tragically passed away in a house fire on Monday have paid tribute.
Dyfed-Powys Police can confirm that the person who sadly died in the fire in Siskin Close, Haverfordwest on Monday (April 19) has been formally identified as 46-year-old Marie Bellingham.
A tribute from the family reads as follows: “Marie was a loving mother of seven boys who are all heartbroken at the loss of their mum.
“The boys are extremely grateful to the support and generosity they have been shown by the community at this sad time.
“They want to thank everyone for this, as well as the privacy and respect that is being allowed to them.”
Police are working with the Fire Service to establish the cause of the fire.
“Dyfed-Powys Police attended a property in Siskin Close, Haverfordwest on Monday evening (April 19) following a report of a house on fire,” said a police spokesperson.
“Sadly a body was found in the property.
“Next of kin have been advised and are being supported by a family liaison officer.”
A spokesperson for Mid & West Wales Fire and Rescue Service stated: “On Monday, at 10.41 pm, Joint Fire Control received the first call to a property fire in Siskin Close, Haverfordwest.
“Crews from Haverfordwest, Milford Haven and Narberth were mobilised to the incident.
“The fire was located on the ground floor of the property and had spread throughout the whole of the two-floor house.
“Firefighters extinguished the fire using eight breathing apparatus. Two hose reel jets, a short extension ladder and a thermal imaging camera.
“Police, Ambulance and Western Power were also in attendance.
“The Fire Service left the incident at 1.55 am.
“This incident is under Police and Fire investigation.”
