The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority will be celebrating 70 spectacular years at the Pembrokeshire County Show on August 17 and 18, showcasing the area’s fascinating heritage, wildlife and world-class coastline.

On the corner of Central and Main Avenues, you’ll find the National Park Authority’s marquee, packed with exciting activities for everyone, as well as plenty of information on getting out and about in the Park.

The Authority’s Chief Executive, Tegryn Jones, said:

“This year the Authority is inviting people to come and enjoy learning about Pembrokeshire’s breathtaking landscape and how we help protect it through various interactive hands-on exhibitions and entertaining activities.

“Inside the marquee we will have Authority Rangers giving their top tips for making the most of the Pembrokeshire Coast, as well as a host of information and exhibits on accessing and enjoying the National Park.

“Children will love the family-friendly activities on offer, including free wildflower seed giveaways and wildflower colouring. Plus, there’s a chance to find out more about the Authority’s beach wheelchair hire scheme, as well as the great inclusive walking and access opportunities the Park has to offer for all ages and abilities.

“Joining us on the veranda will be local artists Hannah Rounding and Tamsin Gear, offering free hands-on craft sessions for children, who will have the opportunity over the two days of the Show to contribute their creations to a ‘meadow masterpiece’ showcasing this vitally important part of the National Park’s iconic landscape.”

There’s also a chance to win wildflower identification books by taking part in a wildflower treasure hunt activity around the Authority’s marquee.

On Thursday 18, representatives from Just Bees will be joining the Park Authority’s stand displaying a working beehive and offering free interactive wax candle-making sessions.

Also present will be officers from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Trust, showcasing a range of projects that have been supported thanks to funding and donations, including the Make More Meadows scheme, which is supporting existing meadows and creating more meadows for wildlife, enabling insects and plants to move across a wider area so that their species can thrive and be sustained.
