Following huge success in 2023, the organisers of Narberth Outdoor Rock are promising this year’s event will be bigger and better!

The joint committee members of Narberth RFC and Narberth & Whitland Rotary have decided to expand Narberth Outdoor Rock, their fourth joint charity fundraiser which is scheduled for Saturday, August 3, 2024.

The promoters have decided to invest in more marquees in the RFC ground, yielding either sun shade or rain cover to give spectators a more comfortable experience when watching the performers or when queuing for their food or drinks. Patrons can bring their own chairs if they wish.

Three external bars will ensure speedy service. Butcher Jon James & Son from Haverfordwest will have three cooking stations and seven or eight staff to provide quality fare without delay. All this will supplement the 500 seat covered grandstand and the comfortable furnishings and bars in the main clubhouse.

There will be improved toilet provisions for the ladies too. A large luxury mobile unit with 9 individual flushing toilets and handbasins, dedicated for female use only, will reduce queues.

This year, the budget has also been increased to obtain the large professional stage of EPS Events Ltd, which has appeared before in Pembrokeshire as the centrepiece in the County Show and Saundersfest. So the regular supporters of NOR are going to enjoy a great sound and lighting experience provided by Wayne Morse and his team.

But the best news is that this year there will be three bands, in addition to the compère and disco of Steve Briers Roadshow.

Four-piece local band The Sleeping Dogs will kick off the music at about 4.30pm; gates open at 4pm for security bag searches.

The second band is tribute act Forever Elton.

Finally, the music between 9pm and 11pm  features the 7-piece UK Fleetwood Mac. This group of five men and two ladies are guaranteed to get the audience rocking! All bars will remain open until midnight.

By the end of January, the committee hopes to have a website operational, with online bookings, but there will also be outlets available for the purchase of paper tickets if preferred.
