NEYLAND Ladies Choir has had a good start to the year with a visit to Rickeston, a St David’s Day concert at East Williamston and a quick dash to the Merlin Theatre in Haverfordwest to open a presentation evening for Adam's Bucketful of Hope.

The ladies then returned to Neyland for weekly rehearsal in preparation for attendance in Maesteg for the Festival of Female Voices on March 7.

The participation in three workshops and a short performance in the Atrium in Maesteg Town Hall started the day before attending an afternoon rehearsal with eleven other choirs in preparation for the Gala Concert. Under the direction of Lynne Kelleher and accompanied by Miranda Davies, the ladies performed three items on the main stage during the concert and joined with the massed choir to perform three set pieces as directed by the festival organisers.

The welcome and support shown to the choir by the organisers and volunteers was excellent, each one carrying out their duties with a smile. It was a perfect opportunity to fly the flag for Neyland and, along with the Serendipity choir from Narberth, represent Pembrokeshire at the event.

The choir thanks its committee for the planning and preparation to make it a great experience.

Choir rehearsals are every Wednesday at 7pm in the Bethesda Chapel Schoolroom, and new members are always welcome. Visit www.neylandladieschoir.weebly.com for more information.
