MAKE handmade decorations or felted soaps, or try mediaeval-style calligraphy at Carew Castle this November, as winter workshops bring festive creativity to the Castle’s Nest Tearoom.

The sessions are designed to offer a peaceful escape from the rush – with warm drinks, beautiful surroundings, and all materials included. Whether you’re joining for the joy of making or searching for the perfect handmade gift, each workshop invites you to slow down, settle in, and try something new.

The series begins with a Felted Soap Workshop, where participants will learn how to wet-felt colourful merino wool directly onto soap, creating two textured, gift-ready soaps by hand. This workshop takes place on Tuesday, November 4, 4.30pm-6.30pm.

A week later, on Tuesday, November 11, guests can travel back in time during the Calligraphy Workshop, 4.30pm-6.30pm. Attendees will craft quills from goose feathers, grind oak galls to create medieval ink, and master the graceful art of hand lettering, ready to add a personal historical touch to their festive cards.

Creativity meets Christmas sparkle at the final session: the Christmas Needle Felting Workshop. Scheduled for Tuesday, November 18, 4.30pm-6.30pm, this beginner-friendly session offers a chance to make beautiful handmade tree decorations.
