AS a way of making this summer more affordable for families, the Torch Theatre will be offering cinema tickets at a discounted price to anyone under 16 as part of the UK Government ‘Great British Summer Savings’ scheme, that sees VAT being slashed.

The scheme encourages families across Wales and England to take advantage of lower prices on children’s days out, meals and travel, with cinema tickets at the Torch being offered at an all-time low.

Between Friday, July 3 and Tuesday, September 1, the Torch Theatre in Milford Haven is offering under 16-year-old cinema tickets for £5.25, family tickets for £21, 3D under-16 tickets for £5.80 and 3D family tickets for £23, offering huge savings. The discount applies automatically to all eligible screenings and cannot be applied to tickets already purchased or for screenings outside of these dates.

Chelsey Gillard, Torch Theatre’s Artistic Director and Interim CEO, said: “The Torch is delighted to be offering these reduced cinema ticket prices for families over the summer months. We are not required to pass on the VAT saving, but we are firm believers in providing the best value for audiences and this scheme is allowing us to do just that. With a summer full of blockbuster titles ahead, including Toy Story 5 and the latest instalment of the Minions, we are looking forward to welcoming you soon.”

These summer measures are part of a broader government package to help households with rising costs, made worse by the Middle East conflict affecting global supply chains and energy markets. The support offered helps families with energy bills, fuel costs, holiday activities and sees an increase in the National Living Wage. Visit costoflivinghelp.campaign.gov.uk/summer-savings .
