As part of their ongoing drugs prevention work, the Substance Misuse youth worker, Anna, and Greenhill School’s very own school-based youth worker, Leah, identified the need to hold a PSE day for the whole school, illustrating the risks and dangers of substance abuse in a supportive and approachable manner.
They liaised with the Tenby school’s Wellbeing Officer (Mr. Williams) to discuss the plan for the day.
Mr. Williams helped make the event possible by sorting the timetable for all of the workshops.
They also got Fearless on board (Crimestoppers) to help deliver sessions on County Lines to the older year groups. These were delivered by Fearless youth worker Dan Evans, who will be linking back in for future sessions with Leah and Anna.
The day was a great success, and following the seminars, a number of young people came to talk to the youth workers, saying that they had found the presentations helpful and that they had learned something from them.
The Youth Workers are now looking at future PSE plans to further support education about substances and the dangers and risks that go with them.
