Templeton School are delighted to announce they have been awarded with the Silver Award of the Siarter Iaith Gymraeg (The ERW Schools Welsh Language Charter).

As part of this assessment process the Welsh Advisory teacher, Catrin Phillips visited the school and enjoyed a school tour conducted by the Criw Cymraeg - Welsh language Pupil group - who confidently showed all the work that has been undertaken over the last 12 months to improve Welsh language provision at the school.

They also led the Welsh assembly and as always did an outstanding job!

“I am delighted that we have been awarded with the Silver Award. It recognises all the hard work and commitment all staff and pupils have put it to improving Welsh in our school,” said Mrs. Helen Roberts, Welsh co-ordinator and project lead.

Kevin Phelps, Headteacher commented: “I would like to thank and congratulate Mrs Helen Roberts who, as Welsh language subject leader, has done an incredible job in leading this initiate at our school by supporting all the staff and children and guiding them piece by piece throughout the entire process.

“As a result, the profile and standards of the Welsh language throughout the school are very high and Mrs. Roberts, with the help of her Criw Cymraeg, has ensured that regular updates etc. have been provided on Facebook for parents to enjoy too.”
