Pembrokeshire Youth Service has partnered with the University of Wales Trinity Saint David to develop an exciting programme entitled ‘Blast’ which is aimed at closing the gap between those undecided on their future, and Higher Education.
The purpose of the Blast project, which was delivered as a residential, was to allow young people the opportunity to fully engage with Higher Education by living on campus for two days and attending taster lectures in BSc Applied Psychology, BA Youth & Community, BA Outdoor Education, Early Years, Primary Education and BA in Digital Media.
Along with these subjects, young people were given Student Finance Wales workshops as well as coaching for applications to UCAS.
Six young people from Pembrokeshire participated, and two of them are hoping to make applications for September’s intake.
