Work to improve the town’s De Valence venue continues, local councillors heard this week.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, Deputy Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown, said that they were in the middle of installing a CCTV system at the premises, whilst work on replacing the foyer doors was also taking place.
“I think they were last done in about 1974 which is shocking! We’ve had a lot of problems with doors lately, the reason being for one was a wrestler went through it!” she laughed.
Clr. Mrs. Brown also praised the recent Arts Festival events that had taken place at the venue, and said that numbers of locals attending the film nights were still high, despite there being no influx of holidaymakers to the regular screenings.
