A TENBY teenager has been handed a suspended sentence for possessing a knife or sharp pointed article in a public place.
The 19-year-old, resident at The Glebe, was sentenced at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on March 17. On April 26, 2025 he took a kitchen knife ‘to the high street’, i.e. the Glebe, ‘without good reason or lawful authority’, court heard.
The young man was sentenced to 18 weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for 12 months. Probation indicated a realistic prospect of rehabilitation - taking into account his age - and lack of previous convictions.
Offender requirements include 150 hours’ unpaid work. The forfeiture and destruction of the knife was ordered under Section 1(2) of the Prevention of Crime Act 1953.
