A Pembroke women who was found to be in possession of cannabis has been fined in court.

Twenty-five-year-old, Alisha Taylor Stokes of Devon Drive was charged was possessing one gramme of the Class B drug.

The offence took place on November 2 in Haverfordwest.

Ms Stokes appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Wednesday a day later than scheduled to plea guilty to the charge.

As a result she was also charged with failing to attend court when instructed to do so, an offence that she also admitted.

Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told the court that police officers wished to speak to the defendant and she voluntarily surrendered the drugs that she had on her.

Defence solicitor Jonathan Webb told the court that his client got confused with the dates and that was the reason that she had not turned up on the correct day.

On sentencing the chairman of the bench, said: “You’ve been out of trouble for some time, its a shame to see you back in court.”

Magistrates fined Ms Stokes £120 for both offences.

She was also ordered to pay £100 in prosecution costs along with a £32 victim surcharge.
