LADIES of Saundersfoot-based St Issell’s WI and guest speakers Abi and Steve from Pembroke Chiropractors were welcomed to the February meeting by Vice President Anne-Marie Littlewood.
Abi gave some information regarding the practice, and then Steve gave details of how to keep moving and fit. He also demonstrated some treatments on Joy’s shoulder, Eva’s neck and Janet’s knee.
He answered many questions, and it seemed as if most of the WI members had a problem of one sort and another. He finished by demonstrating the easiest way to get up from a chair. Jeanette John thanked him and Abi for a most interesting and informative talk. Abi handed out leaflets and promised to email more information to Pam.
Following welcome refreshments, the business continued with Maureen North being thanked for the flowers for the top table and birthday wishes going to Mary Lawrence and Anne Slade.
The scarves which ladies had knitted were collected; these will be sold at the National Eisteddfod later in the year. The Rosebowl ladies were progressing and Anything Goes rehearsals were doing well.
Final arrangements were made for the Welsh Day at the Regency Hall on February 28, ladies agreed to make Bara Brith beforehand on February 24 and 26, and welshcakes on the day. Last year’s event had been very successful so it was hoped for a repeat performance.
The county letter was read, the date for the quiz noted, with arrangements to be made at the March meeting. The International Women’s day on March 14 was also noted. Pam advised that it might be possible to stream the Annual Meeting on June 4, and this would be given further consideration.
This month’s competition winner was Jacqui Cowgill, and the lucky raffle winners Jane Lee and Eva Rich. Anne-Marie wished ladies a safe journey home with the reminder that the March meting would again be at 2pm.
