AS Saundersfoot gears up towards the bank holiday weekend - which looks like being a scorcher - don’t forget the first Rotary Sandcastle Competition of the year on Tuesday, May 26.

The much-loved competition will take place on Saundersfoot beach at the foot of the slipway underneath the Hywl Outdoor Sauna, between 10am and midday.

Low tide will be at 9.30am so there will be plenty of room for all budding castle builders to construct their masterpieces!

Every entrant will get a prize and entry is free.

Saundersfoot Rotary has expressed “a huge thank you” to Saundersfoot Community Council for approving Saundersfoot Rotary’s grant applications to purchase a new first aid bag, a defibrillator bag, and prizes for the sandcastle competitions.

“These grants will help us continue providing this fantastic free activity for holidaymakers and their children, while also ensuring everyone can enjoy the events safely.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the Council’s continued support of our community activities.”

The Community Council responded: “We are pleased to support events and initiatives that bring people together and benefit the community and are delighted to have been able to help with the first aid equipment and prizes for the sandcastle competition. Thank you to Saundersfoot Rotary for all the hard work that goes into organising these wonderful community activities.”

All ages are welcome, so grab your buckets and spades and head to Saundersfoot Beach on Tuesday, May 26, 10am-12 noon to build, create, and have fun!
