THE Routes to Discovery team members love a spot of community volunteering, so when they heard that some members of the public had mentioned a few areas around Pembroke town that could do with a bit of TLC, they stepped up.

The volunteers completed a great job improving accessibility and enhancing the aesthetics at the rear of St Oswalds Surgery, cutting back, edging paths and litter picking.

Routes to Discovery is a people-led project, which is all about the restorative powers of Pembrokeshire’s amazing outdoors and especially its National Park.

Routes to Discovery is for young carers, young people, unpaid carers; for people whose mobility reduces opportunities for them to benefit from time spent accessing the outdoors. It’s for people who identify as having poor mental health too, and for anyone who would like to experience the wellbeing benefits of time spent outdoors.

The activities are designed to be accessible, fun and relaxing, with the opportunity to learn new skills and meet new people.

Newcomers are very welcome. For more information, email [email protected] or call 07943 186630.
