FOR those of you reading this who are thinking that Pembrokeshire FRAME is all about secondhand furniture - think again.

At the secondhand furniture and bric-a-brac shop in Haverfordwest, donated items are sold, repurposed and redesigned by a team of experts in textile and fashion design, and furniture restoration takes place in a woodwork workshop. There is also a garden area growing plants. It’s about so much more.

At the Carew WI May meeting, Frank and Sue, from FRAME’s specialist team, enlightened members about the other work undertaken by this charity set up for the community in Pembrokeshire. The success of the charity has become the benchmark for others in the country to emulate.

FRAME specialists have links to other organisations and can put people in touch with relevant departments offering friendly, non judgmental advice on fuel bills, financial issues, keeping well and warm and much more.

Carew WI is looking forward to a visit to FRAME HQ in the future so members can see for themselves what they can do to contribute to this worthwhile Pembrokeshire facility.

The formal WI meeting took place after tea. Jerusalem was heartily sung before the county letter, outstanding correspondence and arrangements for VE Day celebrations were finalised.

Thanks to the tireless organisational skills of Bronwen - ably assisted by Erica, members are now looking forward to a visit to Lamphey WI and their main summer trip.
