On receiving the donation Mr. Gamble said: As a football club, we are wholly reliant on donations and the funds that we can raise through our members.

“The costs of remaining operational are fairly significant particularly in the current financial climate, so generous donations such as this from the Co-op are extremely welcome, its fantastic to receive support from businesses within the community".

Mr. David Darracott, Kilgetty Co-op store manager remarked: “Having had a background in football I recognise the importance a thriving football club can make in providing a positive, healthy environment for it’s members.

“The Co-op is proud to support Kilgetty Football Club, and we hope that in doing so it will help to enable Lukas and the club to continue in doing such great work for the community,” he added.

Kilgetty AFC currently provide training and matches for nine children’s teams and two adult teams, catering for around 120 children and 40 adults.
