Whitland Classic Motor Club have raised £1,400 for Macmillan this year.
Last Thursday, a Macmillan representative was invited to the club’s monthly meeting at Whitland Rugby Club, along with Whitland Mayor, Clr. Frank Connor-Hughes, to accept a cheque for the money raised so far.
Yona Cartwright from Macmillan attended and gave a very informative talk on how money raised was used and spent. Also on how cancer affects people from all walks of life and not only the actual patient, but the patient’s surrounding friends and family.
Club members and partners also enjoyed a social evening with raffle, and a buffet which was supplied by Phil and his lovely wife from Whitland RFC.
The club meets at Whitland RFC on the last Thursday of each month. New members and non members are always welcome. You can find more information regarding the club, car runs and their charity fund-raising on their facebook page @Whitlandclassiccarclub .
