In readiness for the Christmas season, Narberth and Whitland Rotarians - president Tony Ensom and secretary Sue Pridmore - visited the Food Bank in Grace Court House, Castle Street, Narberth recently.

They delivered a dozen family-sized Christmas puddings together with a cheque for £200.

They met with Food Bank manager, Theri Bailey, and were treated to a bowl of soup in the cafe and a tour around meeting some of the volunteers.

The Rotary Club donation was gratefully received and the puddings will go into the seasonal parcels in the run-up to Christmas.

During the meeting, it seemed clear that there could be some mutual ground between LMG (The Living Memories Group) and the Community Cafe of the Foodbank.

People visit the cafe who are not necessarily in food poverty, for socialisation and with the ability to access advice on such as debt, housing issues etc.

They have a large notice board in the cafe and it seems a good idea to put up a couple of posters/leaflets about LMG. In addition, the Food Bank do a Christmas project providing a small Christmas hamper to socially isolated people who may not have treats at Christmas.
