On Thursday, April 23, Whitland Male Voice Choir sang at Redberth Church to make money for the upkeep of this beautiful little church.
Tickets had been sold beforehand and all the seats were full, so the organisers had put chairs in the wide aisle to accommodate a few people who paid at the door.
The concert opened with a welcome from the vicar, Rev. Millgate, and a congregational hymn got the proceedings underway. As is usual for the choir, they sang a wide variety of music in both English and Welsh and both modern and less modern in style.
Soloist for this concert was Clive Edwards, affectionately known to us as Clive 'the bus', as he is the proprietor of Taf Valley Coaches, of Whitland. He sang two songs in each half of the concert, with the choir accompanying him for one of the items.
Pianist for the evening was Hefina Jones and Juliet Rossiter, the musical director of the choir, kept the proceedings and the choir flowing nicely along together.
The concert concluded with another congregational hymn, before the vicar proposed thanks to everyone, and the choir and guests dispersed to the church hall for an excellent supper prepared by the ladies of the church.
