Popular charity cycle ride the Carten100 takes place this Saturday, with the event expected to attract over 2,000 registered riders!
The 2016 event will start at one of the most iconic locations in Cardiff at the City Hall with the finish again planned for the harbour in Tenby, where a marquee will be in place, with refreshments for thirsty finishers!
The ride from the Welsh capital to Pembrokeshire’s ‘jewel in the crown’ has become a truly unique Welsh cycling tradition, with nearly half a million pounds raised to date for great causes.
From just four riders in 2004, to a whopping 1,700 last year, the challenge of cycling 106 miles has just kept growing.
Carten100 2016 will support the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity, and also make donations to Coleg Elidir and the Blood Bikes Charity.The route will take the cyclists from Cardiff, through Swansea, Pembrey, Llandowror and Tavernspite, before joining the A478 for the final leg of the journey to Tenby, where they are expected to arrive in Tudor Square from about 12.30 pm.
