Trains travelling to holiday destinations such as Tenby need to have better storage facilities on board a local councillor has pointed out this week.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane told her colleagues that she had recently returned via train from a trip to London and was surprised at how little space there was for luggage on board.
“The new trains are very nice but the reduced luggage racks don’t help. From the Swansea station down to Pembrokeshire there was barely any luggage storage at all!
“It does not make much sense seeing that these trains are carrying passengers to tourism areas.
“We were promised upgrades by Trains For Wales last year, so perhaps we can write to the company and find out what their proposals area,” she added.
