Llanteg’s Spar is among several branches of the store that have suddenly closed between Christmas and New Year.
The store and service station alongside the A477 road at Llanteg is a franchise of High Noon Stores Ltd which went into administration on December 30.
High Noon Stores operates convenience stores including forecourts under the Spar fascia, providing services such as Post Office, Paypoint, Lotto and Click and Collect.
Four further branches in other parts of West Wales, also closed unexpectedly over the festive period, including one located on The Grist in Laugharne.
The closures have been confirmed by Spar, with a spokeswoman saying: "We can confirm that High Noon Stores went into administration on December 30.
“This is a very sad development for all employees and individuals associated with the business. AF Blakemore will work closely with the administrators over the coming weeks."
Founded in 2009 by Gordon Miller and Rhys Evans, High Noon Stores was listed amongst the Top 50 fastest growing firms in Wales last year.
The Llanteg store made headlines in 2013 after it slashed its prices and was selling what was claimed to be the cheapest diesel in the UK at the time.
