Begelly Church has recently been the lucky recipient of 60 trees from the Woodland Trust, but need your help to plant them!
Anyone who is available tomorrow (Saturday, 11 December) from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm is welcome to join Begelly Church volunteers in planting the trees around the edges of the Churchyard.
Why not come as a family? There will be tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits available afterwards. If you can, bring a spade and gardening gloves, and wear boots or wellies as it will probably be muddy.
If you can let them know that you are intending to come, that will help with planning, but it’s not essential.
Priest in charge, Rev. Steve Brett, said: “The Church locally is keen to play its part in caring for the natural environment, God’s Creation, and is committed to action, making care for creation and reaching net zero carbon emissions an integral part of its strategy and vision.
“It is also striving to become Climate Positive rather than merely Carbon/Climate Neutral, and planting trees is a good step in the right direction, as well as being a wonderful opportunity to join with the community in improving the Churchyard for all those who visit to remember their loved ones.”
