The first work party for January was rained off, but a big team turned out last Saturday to spend a couple of hours working in the East Williamston Jubilee Park.

There was an area to be cleared alongside a bank which will eventually be hedged, bringing new young growth. At first, it looked impenetrable, but 17 people set to work with a will, using loppers and saws and before long it was cleared!

It was very muddy underfoot, however, and one wellington boot nearly disappeared!

The group is made up of all ages, including one young student working towards a Duke of Edinburgh award. If you would like to know more, see the website, http://jubileeparkew.moonfruit.com/">http://jubileeparkew.moonfruit.com/ or e-mail [email protected]">[email protected]
