Vandals who hit Tenby again over the weekend have been slammed by the town council after they daubed areas overlooking the North Beach and the South Beach with Covid-19 related graffiti.
Walls leading down to the North Walk were graffitied, along with part of the town’s skatepark.
“Tenby Town Council has been appalled and disgusted by the recent spate of graffiti attacks on public and private property in the town, the most recent being over this weekend,” said the town clerk Andrew Davies.
“Historically such vandalism attacks have fortunately been few and far between, but the escalation over the last few weeks is disgraceful.
“This is not the work of a group of budding ‘Banksys’ but wanton acts of criminal damage and we are aware that the police are actively pursuing some promising leads in relation to finding the culprits,” he continued.
“Graffiti vandalism is not a victimless crime, it takes up valuable time and resources the police, and the town and county councils could better employ elsewhere, particularly under current circumstances,” added Mr. Davies.
Last month a spate of criminal damage was reported to Dyfed-Powys Police, all involving graffiti using the same tag across buildings and structures Tenby, where even a camper van was targeted.
