A Pembroke Dock woman has been remanded in custody after being charged with arson with intent.
Thirty-eight-year-old Hayley James entered no plea to the charge of arson with intent, being reckless as to whether life was endangered, when she appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Two firefighter crews from Pembroke Dock and a crew from Milford Haven attended the ground floor flat fire at Commercial Row, which occurred shortly after 6.30 am on December 2.
Ms. James, who is alleged to have started the fire, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remained in hospital for treatment up until her court appearance.
Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones submitted a request for the defendant to be remanded in custody, alleging that the incident had not only put herself at significant risk of harm, but also the occupants of other flats at the location.
Magistrates elected to remand her in custody and she will next appear at Swansea Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, February 13.
